Unfair.co Community Voice Server Now Available!

Posted by In Random

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to the awesome folks over at Enjin we have opened a 100 slot Mumble voice server which we’re enabling for the site users and community!

Cool Right?!   Who wouldn’t want to chat with their friends while running missions or running around in a dungeon!

Never heard of Mumble before?

Mumble is an open source voice communication application that features a customizable in game overlay, application skins, conversation recording, and advanced voice activity detection… blah blah blah.

What you care about, is it that it is a VoIP client just like Ventrilo or Teamspeak with many of the same features, such as Push To Talk (PTT), Comments, Chat, etc, but you know… different.

And best of all, the client is free, the hosted server is free, all you have to do is log in and use it!

Cool! So how do I access it?

Well If you’re already familiar or have used Mumble before, here’s all you need:

Server:    central1.voice.enjin.com
Port:         61393

Or click this:  central1.voice.enjin.com:61393   and ‘Open With … ‘    Mumble.   (Depending on your system configuration, that may or may not work!)

For New Users:

  1. Head over to www.mumble.com and download the client. (or direct link to the Windows Client)
  2. Install the client just like you would any other program.
  3. Run the Mumble Program.

Haven’t lost you so far right?

Once you run the program, you’ll have some basic setup steps, just follow the instructions to get your Mic and Speakers tuned the way you like.

Entering The Server Details:

  1. Select Connect from the Server menu at the top or use the shortcut CTRL+O on your keyboard.
  2. Click the Add New button on the bottom of the “Mumble Server Connect” window.
  3. Enter a description in the label box.  Ex:   ‘Unfair.co’
  4. Enter the server’s hostname:  central1.voice.enjin.com
  5. Enter the server’s port:   61393
  6. In the Username box enter the name you want people to identify you as.  (Your In-Game Name Would Be A Good Idea!)
  7. Press the OK button on the bottom. This will bring you back to the “Mumble Server Connect” window and your newly added connection information will be displayed under the Favorites list.
  8. Highlight the server name you would like to connect to and press the Connect button on the bottom of the window.

You should now be online on the ‘Unfair.co Community Voice’ server!

As a reminder, behave yourselves.

I like to think that humanity hasn’t failed so badly that this gesture will backfire on me!  Feel free to share the server with your in-game friends!  Use it, but don’t abuse it by being disrespectful, disruptive or rude to others in the server.  It is always easier to accomplish things with voice communication enabled, and we at the site want to enable that luxury for ALL to enjoy!

Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions, suggestions, want additional channels added, etc!
